Turning Ground Yoga

At Turning Ground Yoga I strive to give you a complete yoga experience that grounds you, that reconnects you to the things that matter the most and that reminds you that feeling joyful, peaceful and filled with love are the essential stuff of life. Hatha yoga is about gaining strength and flexibility but it is so much more than that. Yoga is about finding peace. The physical practice of Yoga (called asana) helps build you up and gives you many of the tools you've been searching for to achieve that peacefulness. Yoga is also about moving your life energy (called Prana) and balancing your energetic body. Physical postures, proper breathing and focusing the mind are all ways to improve your yoga experience. A typical class with Turning Ground Yoga includes a beginning meditation, a physical practice and concludes with Savasana, which includes a guided relaxation. Our classes are fun and inclusive. Students are guided with hands-on adjustments, inspiring soundtracks and narration and demonstrations throughout. *********************************************************************************************** We offer several levels of classes to suite the different needs of our students: -Hatha is an all levels class that everyone can enjoy. Classes are either flow (suitable for all levels) or beginner (for the yoga newbie). -Core is a blend of yoga and pilates that challenges and strengthens. -Restorative is aptly nicknamed nappy time yoga because it is a class that you can really relax into. Gentle stretching is deepened with the use of props to ensure you go deep with minimal effort. You'll sleep like a baby after a restorative yoga class. -Zumba: This isn't yoga but it IS fun! Zumba is latin-inspired music and dance that masquerades as "exercise in disguise". In a one hour class you can burn more than 500 calories and you'll have so much fun you won't even realize it! Sessions run in the fall, winter and spring and classes take place at Healing Hand Yoga and Wellness Studio as well as at the Turning Ground Studio. Dates and times are announced prior to the beginning of each session. Check this Facebook page to get regular updates or send a private message with your email address if you'd like to be included in the mailing list. Cost: Session costs are either paid in full at the beginning of each session (Session works out to $10.50/class) punch passes get you ten visits that you can use for any of the non-registered classes ($130 for yoga and $110 for Zumba), and drop-in is $18.
