This tiny sawmill community was important to the development of the North Island and has a rich and colorful history. In 1912 the first telegraph operator took up residence at Telegraph Cove and marked the beginnings of the little community. Telegraph Cove Resort was opened in 1979 by the Graham Family and since then has remained family owned and operated . Telegraph Cove Resort is a historical boardwalk village, which invites visitors to learn the rich history and create new memories to last a lifetime.
