Stella's Circle

Every day we get to witness the power of the human spirit - people overcoming enormous challenges to transform their lives in ways that no one could imagine. Stella’s Circle helps people change their lives for the better. We do that by offering: 1) Real Help - Stella’s Circle offers a range of residential, community, and correctional-based counselling services to support people through life’s challenges. Our services help people to achieve higher levels of personal independence and self-reliance. Services in this area include Emmanuel House, a Community Support Program and the Just Us Women's Centre. 2) Real Homes - Safe, secure and stable housing is essential to well being. Stella’s Circle helps address the need for affordable housing by offering more than 100 housing units to rent and supportive housing for those who need it. Some of our properties are owned by Stella’s Circle; others are managed on behalf of the City of St. John’s. We also work with private landlords to increase the stock of affordable housing. Our holdings also include Carew Lodge with 24 new and refurbished units as well as 22 long-term housing units on Rawlins Cross. More than 500 individuals have received housing services from us since we started this program. 3) Real Work - Stable and meaningful employment is an important contributor to physical health, mental health and quality of life. We believe that everyone has the capacity to work and can benefit from it. Stella’s Circle offers a range of employment and education programs to assist people who have had limited work experience or interrupted career paths in finding and maintaining employment.
