Silver Lake Camp

Most families around the Okanagan know about that great little camp just 15km passed downtown Peachland being well known for its Forestry Education programs and great fishing. What some of you many not know about Silver Lake Camp is the troubles its has had in the past few years which have ultimately lead the camp to close its doors and be left without an operator, maintenance personnel, or even a board of directors. Fortunately, a group from The Rotary Club, Alpine Consultants, and other members of the community have bonded together to form The Silver Lake Education Society Board of Directors. This knowledgeable group has been working very hard for the past four months determined to reopen the camp for the 2016 season. The mission of Silver Lake Camp is to provide an opportunity to experience outdoor education and exploration in an environment designed to encourage meaningful and collaborative learning. An opportunity for all ages to reconnect to nature, themselves and others. Silver Lake Forestry Center had been in operation for over 40 years and is known for offering quality forest education programs and outdoor camping experiences to young people between the ages of 7 and 16 years. The Camp includes a brand new lodge with full kitchen, 10 cabins that each sleep 8-10 people, 6 no-fee camping areas and a beautiful lake that is fully stocked with rainbow trout. In order to continue running this education camp that has changed the lives of over 10,000 children in the past 4 years we are asking for the community to come together to show their support by becoming a member or sponsor of Silver Lake Camp! All contributions will go directly to the camp.
