Newfound Defensive Arts (Jiu-Jitsu)

Our modern style of Jiu-Jitsu combines skills in all ranges of self-protection including kicking, punching, trapping and grappling. In addition to providing students with realistic and effective self protection techniques, we also provide "Use of Force" training which allows students to select the most appropriate option(s) and tactic(s) for any given confrontation. (Classes are restricted to students 12 years of age and up.) Sensei Peter Kelly has been involved in Martial Arts training and teaching for over 38 years. He holds Black Belts in the arts of Chito-Ryu Karate, WTF Taekwondo and Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu. He is a certified instructor in Pressure Point and Control Tactics (PPCT), Protective Safety Systems (PPS) and Public and Police Officer Safety (PPSI). Sensei Kelly was a full time Police Defensive Tactics Instructor at the RCMP Training Academy in Regina, SK. He has taught provincial, national and international law enforcement agencies in the area of "Use of Force" and has been declared an expert witness in both Provincial and Supreme Court. He is a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police having served 28 years as a police officer and currently works as a Sheriff's Officer for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
