What Can I Expect To Happen During A Hypnotherapy Session? And How Does It Feel? Some of my clients have been known to come out of their hypnotic trance, saying, “wow, that’s nothing like I have ever felt before!” Others will remark how they could hear every word I was saying and yet were completely motionless the entire time and didn’t want the session to end, “it just feels so good!” Every person has their own unique feeling after experiencing hypnotherapy. Most clients will feel happier when they leave than when they first came in the door, as hypnotherapy completely relaxes the body as well as the mind…it’s a lovely feeling. When you first come in for a session you will be seated in a comfortable recliner chair while we discuss what it is that you wish to change in your life. After a brief discussion and filling out the necessary paperwork, I will ask the client to recline back and get very comfortable while inducing the conscious mind and body of the client to completely relax until I can see that they have reached a suitable trance-like state… this process may take up to 30 minutes or longer. After the client is suitably relaxed in a trance-like state it is then that I will introduce several positive suggestions designed to talk to the client’s sub-conscious mind. All the suggestions given will have to do with what the client is trying to change in their life and are given by using creative visualization, metaphors, and direct suggestions as if talking directly to the client’s sub-conscious mind. Then after a suitable amount of suggestions have been given specific to that particular client’s issue, I will bring the client back out of the trance-like state very gently to become wide awake once again.
