Grenfell Warriors

Grenfell Athletics is growing! Grenfell Campus believes sports and recreation is an integral part of a student’s university experience. This is why we have made it a priority to increase our sport offerings and provide a wide range of recreational activities to our students while they attend Grenfell Campus. Competitive Sport Our men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams are becoming more competitive. Joining these teams is a rewarding experience as they have weekly practices, strength and conditioning sessions and travel throughout Atlantic Canada to compete against other university teams and clubs. Swimming and Cross Country Ski teams were added in 2014 and these programs allow for competitive swimmers and skiers to train and compete in local and provincial competitions. Swimming also offers the unique opportunity for select high performance swimmers to qualify for the Memorial University varsity team while attending Grenfell Campus. Wellness & Recreation Grenfell Campus boasts a newly renovated double gymnasium, 25-metre swimming pool and have partnered with the Corner Brook Civic Centre and Forever Young Fitness to offer plenty of opportunities to participate in wellness and recreation activities. Purchasing a recreation pass will provide students with a chance to take part in fitness classes on campus, recreation activities like intramural tournaments, open sports, pick-up hockey, open skates, and have access to the Forever Young Fitness Centre. There are also lots of opportunities for students to go snowshoeing or take in a campus trip to Marble Mountain for some skiing. Whether you are a competitive athlete or just looking to stay active, we want you on our team!
