C.J. Custom Restoration

I'm starting my own little business based on R.R.R. (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). 4 years ago going to the Calgary land fill with my man, we drove around looking at stuff. This place seems to be as big as Magrath it self. But I noticed a section just for furniture. Old ikea stuff , old dressers and extra. Well I started snooping around found so amazing thing. So being a 4th generation car sales mans daughter, I got to take some stuff but pay the dump guy 75.00 all the money I had in my pocket and keep it hush hush. In return I got a full bedroom set solid wood made in the 40''s or 50's with this old ugly yellow colour and a great smell....... But I got a tall boy dresser, long boy, night stand and head bord with built in shelf and also foot bord. It was the full matching set a few bad spots but nothing sanding and wood filler wouldn't fix. So I bleached it for two days and gave it some TLC and it looks brand new. I couldn't believe it. I went to the brick to check prices out and found a set like the dump one and they wanted 3000 to 4000 and that's not even made from solid wood. I couldn't believe it with what I saw at the dump and the bricks prices. I wanted to tell everyone but did some research found out that 67.2% of Canada's landfills are mostly food, old shoes, cloths, jackets, furniture, auto parts, and blankets. Canadians generate approximately 31 million tones of garbage a year and only recycle 25 % of that material. This means that each person generates approximately 2.7kg of garbage each day. So I got really sick about that and traveling to place around the would who would die for stuff that's in the landfill. So started a goal that I would start reusing stuff. I have designed three different houses and one was a giant Reno that I used old barn wood, pallets and wood I find kinda all over. Old furniture I turned into vanities, book selfs and extra. My business is making custom furniture, crazy shelves, barn door, kids room, window sets, and more. I can make anything, restore anything and try to find your style and design.
