Brooke-Alvinston Arts & Activity Group

This group is for anyone in Brooke-Alvinston who wants to be involved in helping us to make the space above the Brooke-Alvinston Administration Building a place for young and old to meet, teach, learn and play. This is a group that is just being formed which is looking for people who want to be involved in a big way or a little way. The idea is to turn the large space which is the top floor of the Brooke-Alvinston Municipal Building into a space where people can come to learn, teach, visit and use as a part of their community. There is some grant writing which has already started but we are a ways to go to get this project started. There needs to be some money raised either through grants or fundraising to do some of the work before the space can be utilized. An emergency exit staircase needs to be build and the washrooms have to be finished and up to standards. Other than that a bit of elbow grease, painting etc. Once the space is finished it can be used for people who want to teach .... classes, there is a stage for any drama programs, we will have a part set aside to showcase local photos, memorabilia and artifacts like a museum. There is kitchen space, which can be used as a community kitchen, for clubs such as 4H, Girl Guides etc to meet at. Its a space with a lot of potential and could be turned into a vibrant part of this small community.
