***FOLLOW my page for first dibs on DEALS!*** WHAT IS REIKI? The practice of Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes stress reduction, relaxation and healing. When used in conjunction with any other medical or therapeutic techniques, it helps to relieve side effects and promote recovery. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that always creates a beneficial effect. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words -- Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy", so Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." It is this "life force energy" that we need to exist, connect, manifest, love, communicate and foresee clearly and easily. Through Reiki treatments, a practitioner will channel Reiki energy to help balance a client's energy thus allowing the client to operate at his/her highest potential. HOW DOES IT WORK? In Usui Reiki, practitioners can either be certified in Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 (Master Level). A Reiki treatment can be administered in-person by all Usui Reiki practitioners through a hands-on (or hands-hovering) approach, which is more or less known as the traditional style of Reiki. The channelled Reiki energy will go to the areas in which it is needed the most. If something ails you and you are quite aware of it, you may notice that your Reiki practitioner is guided to spend more time on it during your treatment. Do you have issues with anxiety? Your practitioner may spend more time at the base of your sternum in that case, for example. With Level 2 (or higher) certification, your practitioner can still practice the traditional hand placements during an in-person treatment, but he/she may take a more intuitive approach to treatment based on what they feel. You may notice that they may go right to the problem areas without having to be told. He/she may also use powerful symbols during a treatment to invoke a more powerful exchange. A Level 2 or Reiki Master Practitioner can also channel Reiki energy over any distance and achieve the same balancing results (if the practitioner is certified under the Usui Reiki teachings). There are different schools of Reiki, so check to make sure your practitioner is appropriately certified before agreeing to a distance treatment. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE? As long as you, the client, are open to receiving that Reiki healing energy, then a treatment will feel like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. You may experience tingles, heat, the feeling like water is gently moving through you, or any number of subtle sensations. You may also see colours, hear a voice, perhaps you'll feel extra hands on you, or notice things post-treatment. Everyone feels different things. It is okay if you do not experience these things -- the Reiki still worked, and perhaps with another couple of treatments you will find that you start to notice things like these. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. With regular treatments, many have reported miraculous results. CERTIFICATION Level 2 Usui Reiki (anticipating Reiki Master certification in 2015) MY STORY In 2013, I began to understand myself, and the universe, more thoroughly. My lifelong draw toward crystals/gems as opposed to silver and gold, the feelings that would come over me that weren't actually mine, and my instinct to try to heal people's emotional/mental ailments began to make sense. I was a healer who was asleep to the real possibilities of being able to do that effectively with the use of Universal Life Force Energy, or Reiki... but let's back up a bit. It was in April or so of 2013 that I met and began to date my then partner who was quite intuitive himself. He introduced me to meditation, which allowed me to centre and balance myself and become a channel of sorts. He also introduced me to my ability to ask questions to the Universe and receive answers through instant, involuntary movements in my hands -- one hand meant "yes" where the other hand meant "no". It was then, at his kitchen table, that I knew things were going to change drastically for me. There I was, talking to my Guides! At this time, I also learned to use my hands to locate problem areas (energetically) on someone and remove those blockages (or entities) from that person. Upon locating and removing these energies, the person I was trying to help automatically felt clearer and more awake, as these energies can really drag a person down. Ever feel like you're suddenly inexplicably tired, or perhaps you're dragging a little more than you ever do? It could be because an ex-lover, for example, was thinking bad thoughts about you at that moment. Every thought, every idea, every piece of information is energy, and it is that intention behind that energy or the vibe of the energy itself that ends up affecting the subject of said thoughts and ideas... namely, any one of us. I learned to remove the energy associated with that. By that time, I began to consider myself an Energy Worker. Also around this time, I was shown a few ways to protect myself from such attacks… one of which was the use of crystals. It wasn't long before I was educating myself on the metaphysical properties of different crystals and visiting crystal shops. I learned to use my body as a pendulum to let me know which crystals had the right energetic vibrations for me, and I noticed the slight differences in the way I felt while holding onto this crystal versus that crystal. I found the subtle differences in how I felt very interesting. With the self-education of the metaphysical properties of crystals also came the self-education of the chakra system. I memorized the chakras, what they're for, which crystals are associated with them, and why it's so important to find balance within the chakras. This is what led me to want to earn my certification in Usui Reiki, and I've been enjoying it ever since. Every person is different, and every energetic transaction with every person brings forth different information. There is no equation, there is no absolute -- there is only what exists that very moment within you, and in keeping an open channel and directing Reiki healing energy to you, many things can be shown to me and, in turn, relayed to you as well. I currently hold certification for Level 2 Usui Reiki. What this means is that I can facilitate Reiki treatments on my clients on an in-person basis with either a hands-on or hands-hovering treatment, or I can work remotely for my clients by dialling into their energy and channeling Reiki energy to them, wherever they may be. I have facilitated treatments in person, over the phone, over Skype, over Facebook (through typing back and forth), and there have been a few times where myself and part of my network of Reiki channellers worked together to channel healing energy to someone. I am anticipating my Reiki Master certification by the end of 2015, and training begins in April, 2015. IN-PERSON TREATMENT RATES** $1/min ($15 minimum) treatment.
