Amanda Urbanski Creative Photography

I am a freelance photographer currently working out of Borden, ON and the surrounding area. I graduated from the University of Guelph-Humber in Etobicoke, ON with my Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies and my Diploma in Image Arts. Besides freelancing full time, I also work part time in Communications, primarily in managing company websites and social media. Since becoming a mama to one brilliant and beautiful little girl named Abigail and a military wife to the love of my life, Mathew, photography is showing to be an extremely fulfilling and flexible path. More specifically in having the honour of somebody entrusting me with capturing their special moments and allowing them to relive them long after that moment has come and gone, that feeling right there is something words cannot describe. Photography in my life has been a relationship that has come a long way since high school, when my father gave me my first camera – a Minolta film SLR - and the trial and error of the darkroom. One that has grown with me over the years; I’ve loved it, been inspired by it, struggled with it, creatively blocked by it, cheated on it, hated it, fought with it many times trying to figure us out eventually leading to this honest place where we are now. Trying to figure out my style of photography, what I wanted to do with it and how I felt about it was a long process, but one that I think was necessary in order for myself to appreciate and have faith in the talent and vision I actually do have. That vision is to capture beautiful photos of those around me; beautiful moments of the human condition in its most vulnerable states. To show the beauty of every person I encounter through my lens, through the simplicity of life around us and how truly amazing it's special moments are. I would love nothing more than the opportunity to celebrate and capture those moments for others.
