Tierney Demare is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist in the province of Manitoba. She spends part of her time providing speech-language pathology services for a school division in rural Manitoba. She also offers private practice, in-home speech-language pathology services for children in rural areas.
Tierney has extensive experience working with children, ages 3-21, in a variety of settings such as schools, pre-schools, private homes, and hospitals. She provides an array of services ranging from articulation, stuttering, and augmentative and alternative communication, to vocabulary development, concept development, auditory processing, and more.
Tierney has completed training and professional development in the following areas: Pragmatically Organized Dynamic Display (PODD), Voice, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behaviour Management, Animated Literacy, EAL Literacy Development, Communicating with Non-Verbal Children, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and more.
Education:
Tierney attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba; majoring in linguistics and a minoring in psychology. She then completed her post-baccalaureate and Master's of Science (M.Sc.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, from the University of North Dakota.
Tierney is passionate about her profession. She loves working with all children and helping them communicate to the best of their ability. When she is not providing speech-language pathology services, Tierney likes to read, walk, play with her farm pets, help her husband on the farm, volunteer for the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, play with her two adorable nephews, and watch old musicals.
