Lise LeLievre, BSc.
Asin Anibishkwe ~ Stone Leaf Woman ~ Algonquin Metis
Lise LeLievre is a proud Algonquin Metis woman from Ottawa and has just over 50 years experience working with the impact of Canada’s child protection policies.
As a former Crown Ward and an Adopted Person, Lise has first hand knowledge of how child protection policies can both strengthen and challenge an individual’s life and relationships.
Throughout the span of her career, Lise has worked with Indigenous families and communities across Canada. Lise has held a variety of positions along her journey; all of which have been related to serving “at risk” Indigenous Families impacted by child protection policies.
As a professional and traditionally trained Facilitator, Lise has been providing her services to the Circle of Care program (Aboriginal Approach Alternative Dispute Resolution - AAADR) since December of 2011.
On a daily basis through her AAADR practice, Round Rock Consulting, Lise facilitates the development of strength-based Family Plans with Indigenous Families and the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa.
The goal of the work is always focused on reconciliation of families, however, when this is not possible, Lise has worked with all parties to facilitate the Crown Wardship, Kinship and/or Adoption processes.
Lise is also the co-founder and Facilitator of Ottawa’s first Adoptee Healing Circle. This Circle meets on a monthly basis and offers Ottawa Adoptees of all backgrounds an opportunity to share their challenges and strengths with one another.
In September of 2014, Lise helped to co-create Bi-Giwen: Indigenous Adoptee Gathering 2014. This Gathering was held over two-days in Ottawa and offered a sacred healing space for over 100 Indigenous Adoptees and/or Foster Care Survivors from across Turtle Island.
Lise has been in re-union with her First Family since 1995 and currently resides in Ottawa. Most importantly, she is the proud mother of an amazing teenage daughter.
