Perfectly Imperfect by Sue

Shopping/Retail in Mahone Bay, NS · See Shopping/Retail throughout Nova Scotia

I like to think of myself as an "attic angel". I love to find and rescue unloved, unforgotten (and yes.... even ugly) pieces of furniture and bring them back to life. It's amazing how painting, repurposing and even rebuilding can take a piece of furniture from ordinary to extraordinary! But I also believe that to totally rework a piece, eliminating every imperfection, negates its vintage character. So, more often that not, I will look for and accentuate certain minor flaws. Among the many characteristics I appreciate about older pieces is the quality of solid wood construction, found in details like dovetailed joints, carved accents and original hardware. My unique furniture pieces are made of solid wood, are much more affordable than brand-new pieces and they offer so much more character.
