WHAT IS A YES? Youth Employment Services (YES) Nunavik is a project managed by the Kativik Regional Government to support the socio-professional integration of all young-adult Nunavimmiut aged between 16 and 35. However, our services will be specifically targeted to the youth between 16 and 25. YES Nunavik offers many services to help youth develop their personal skills, identify employment needs, further their education, as well as acquire entrepreneurial values. To ensure the implementation of innovative projects that promote success, YES Nunavik is teaming up with local and regional partners. Our Mandate: - Develop innovative and alternative projects for youth. - Prepare youth to be fully involved in the growth of their community, active citizens and reliable employees. - Support and prepare youth to integrate the job market. - Support youth to stay in school, go back to school or further their education. Our Objectives: - Manage and provide employment services, information and referrals for youth (Aged 16-35) of Nunavik - Provide a range of alternative services and manage projects that are grounded in the reality of each community as well as supporting youth integration in a labour market and schooling. - Provide services and support to youth in their journey toward a return to school, employment or starting a - small business - Help youth become involved in different programs Our Services: Day-to-Day Services - Needs Evaluation - Action plans tailored to the specific needs of clients and monitoring. - Professional and educational information, as well as referrals to other resources. - Documentation with job opportunities. - Etc. Pre-Employment and Employment Services - Job-search support (CVs, cover letters, interview preparation, etc.). - Pairing available jobs and job seekers. - Workshops and training related to self-knowledge and essential skills. - Support and advice to help young people become job-ready. - Rehabilitation and reintegration. - Internships and other related programs. - Etc. School Services - Secondary and vocational school information. - Career-opportunity workshops. - Projects to prevent school dropout and promote education in cooperation with teachers and other education professionals. - Projects targeting school dropouts. - Etc. Entrepreneurship Services - Entrepreneurship value development (creativity, autonomy, responsibility, cooperation, communication, resourcefulness, citizenship, etc.). - Assistance to help youth to develop and implement projects in fields that interest them (arts, culture, community services, environment, etc.). - Innovative youth projects (youth summer businesses, student businesses, business-idea contests) in cooperation with local and regional partners. - Rehabilitation and reintegration - Etc.
