The prenatal yoga classes are appropriate for women in any stage of pregnancy, whether completely new to yoga or an experienced practitioner. The classes focus on cultivating relaxation and connection with your baby while also creating an awareness of postural and structural alignment in the body for optimal health during pregnancy and after the birth. Understanding the connection between the breath, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles, both in pregnancy and in childbirth, is a key component of these classes. You will: · Learn postures therapeutic for common pregnancy complaints · Discover how to modify common yoga postures to best nurture you and your baby in each of the trimesters · Develop strength with flexibility · Practice relaxation and breathing techniques that help deepen your connection with your baby and your changing body · Meet other women sharing your experience · Build trust in your ability to birth and learn techniques helpful for labour and childbirth The postnatal yoga classes focus on key areas for the postpartum and breastfeeding mom and are appropriate for both those completely new to yoga and experienced practitioners. Babies are welcome. You will: · Learn postures therapeutic for common postpartum complaints · Regain pelvic floor and deep core strength · Open the shoulders and upper back · Practice relaxation and breathing techniques that help ease the transition into motherhood and prevent postpartum depression · Meet other women and babies · Develop an awareness of posture and alignment for optimal health while recovering from birth and carrying your baby
