Y Mentors Yellowknife

Just For Fun in Yellowknife, NT · See Just For Fun throughout Northwest Territories

Y Mentors is a free group mentoring program provided by YWCA Yellowknife and funded by the Canadian Women’s Foundation. It is a three-tiered mentoring program, which has adult mentors meeting with a junior mentor (14-17 years) and 2-4 girls (11-13 years) in a group setting. Activities are guided by the program coordinator and held at YWCA Yellowknife and in the community. Mentors are given specialized training throughout the course of the mentoring relationship. Mentoring these young women will encourage healthy social development and will support the mentees in reaching their academic, career, and personal goals. Meetings are held after school and after GirlSpace! Y Mentors is always looking for women who want to share their wisdom with young, emerging leaders in our community! Please contact Amanda at ymentors@ywcanwt.ca or call 1 867-920-2777 ext. 320 to learn more about becoming a mentor!
