Physiotherapist Alison Beaton is uniquely qualified among Halifax professionals in working with athletes and the performing artists. Her experience and special training in sport physiotherapy (Sport Diploma); manual and manipulative therapy (FCAMPT); movement pattern and muscle imbalance retraining; as well as acupuncture, make Alison among the top young sports physiotherapists in the country. Presently owner and physiotherapist at Scotia Physiotherapy, Halifax she also travels as a physiotherapist with the Canadian National Freestyle Ski Team and the Canadian National Track & Field Team, Alison spent four years travelling internationally as a physiotherapist and performance medicine supervisor with Cirque du Soleil. In Halifax, Alison works with Dance Nova Scotia and visiting performers to Neptune theatre. She also teaches within the Anatomy Department and School of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, as well as post graduate manual therapy courses. At her West Lawrencetown location, Alison brings this experience to the treatment of surfing-related injuries and conditioning.
