University of Calgary SOS - Students Offering Support

HELLO EVERYONE! Calgary SOS is a group of passionate UofC student volunteers who hope to bring a positive change to our world through our Exam-AID initiative! These are 3-4 hour volunteer-led group review sessions held shortly before an exam, taught by our bright volunteer senior students at the University of Calgary who are proven communicators. >>>>HOW WE PLAN ON RAISING EVERYONE'S MARKS We create an interactive learning environment, leaving student more confident about the covered material. Our sessions are clear, understandable and thorough - all the information you need to ace your next exam! In addition to the review session, students are also provided with a take-home study guide to help them study for their approaching exam. Get ready to ACE your next exam! >>>>HOW WE PLAN ON HELPING CHILDREN IN POOR COMMUNITIES With the donation collected from each group review session, we are able to raise funds to support our educational building projects! With over 100 million children worldwide without access to the education needed to break the cycle of poverty, our efforts are focused around providing sustainable educational support to communities in developing nations, helping children have the opportunity to gain a quality education. >>>>WE BUILD THE SCHOOLS OURSELVES All of our projects are not only funded by our Exam-AID group review sessions, but also built by SOS volunteers on annual volunteer outreach trips. Students travel to a community in Latin America, at their own expense, to spend two weeks building their project, seeing first hand the impact of their time and effort on the lives of others. Countries that SOS has helped with include Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize, Peru and El Salvador. All students of the UofC are invited to come on our volunteer trip! BUT SPACE IS LIMITED!! Ask us how you can get priority. For more trip info, see below or email us. >>>>WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? As volunteer tutors and executives of our club, you are placed on our high priority list for spaces on the international outreach trip in SUMMER 2012. We will travel down to a community of our choice as a group and build our school brick by brick! You'll experience the rich culture Latin America has to offer. Sight see, taste the local cuisine, converse with the locals and children, and take home with you the memory of a life time! JOIN US TODAY. >>>>ATTEND OUR EXAM-AID SESSIONS WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!
