UBC - Okanagan Global Engineering Community

We are excited to finally introduce to you our Global Engineering Community (GEC). GEC is a professional community within UBC’s School of Engineering that supports international engineering students, and was formed in November 2014 with four honorary members: Joses Akampurira (Undergraduate Academic Assistant), Victoria You (Undergraduate Academic Assistant), Reneé Leboe (Faculty Advisor), and Tanya Chartrand (International Program and Communications Assistant). Why the need for GEC: In the past couple of years, the international community in UBC’s School of Engineering has grown. With the aim to unite this awesome family right from the first year experience, GEC was formed. The students in this community have firsthand experience in the struggles and challenges that you might seem to face as an engineering international student and we are more than willing to share! We hope to work together to make your engineering experience a memorable one, so that you can proudly proclaim with us that UBC Okanagan and the School of Engineering are home.
