Strong Start - JS Clark

Strong start is a great free drop in program for parents and children to come play and explore together! This program is designed for ages 0-5. We have free play, crafts , supply a healthy snack and play in the gym or outside. About the Strong Start Program Policy: to provide school based high quality early learning programs for children younger than school age, accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The program is designed to support the success of students when they enter kindergarten. Strong Start Objectives: To provide a safe place where, along with their parents, children can learn through play. Play is how children learn. The strong start program will provide activities and experiences for children to develop intellectually, creatively, socially and physically. This program will provide a great start for learning and getting children ready for school. This is also a place for parents to make connections with other parents and to receive information about community resources. Guiding and Caring Policy: Strategies used are: * distraction * offering choices * warnings * positive reinforcement * modelling good behaviour These are some guidance strategies that are known to work. Parent Role: * Parents/caregivers are expected to be in attendance at all times. * Parents/caregivers are expected to be an active participant in all activities with their child(ren) and be in close proximity to their child(ren). * Parents/caregivers must sign their child(ren) in and out everyday.
