The Squamish Community Foundation (SCF) is an independent, charitable organization dedicated to enriching quality of life in Squamish. The Foundation was created in 2003 to meet the needs of our growing community through the establishment of a locally-based long term institution. The first directors were Grace Halvorson, Stewart Kerr, Terry Mahnger, Rob Kirkham, Wes Rafuse, Gill Hotston, Ian Sutherland, Brian McIntosh, Doug Race, Greg Gardner and Marianne Wilson. We manage over $300,000 dollars in donor funds and distribute the income to registered charities for community projects. We belong to the Community Foundations of Canada a group of 164 Foundations across Canada. The SCF is governed by a volunteer board of eleven directors made up of community leaders who are Squamish residents and whose varied backgrounds are intended to be representative of Squamish's diversity.
