All South Hill Designs Lockets come with a thick, durable, basic chain, absolutely free. How long are the chains? They come in 18" (slightly lower than a Tshirt collar), 21" (just above breast line), and 32" (below the breast line). How do I put the charms inside? The lockets are very securely held by magnets. You gently pry open the locket to place the charms inside, You can change the charms inside your locket as you would like to further customize it. What materials are the lockets made of? South Hill Design Lockets are made with jewelry grade stainless steel, and are covered with 24k gold plating (gold finish), 24k gold-copper plating (rose-gold finish), or high polished stainless steel (silver finish). Each locket comes with an elegant 18' chain and a logo bag. The lockets have been improved to include stronger magnets, better hinges and better bails. What materials are the chains main of? Do they contain nickel? SHD is in the process of upgrading all of its chains to 24k, 24k-copper, and sterling. Currently the chain that comes free with your lockets are, in the case of silver, high polished stainless steel. Gold and Rose gold are brass base with 24k gold and 24k rose gold plating. Rolo chains are copper base with 24k gold/rose gold plating or rhodium plating for the solver chains. New 18-21" rolo chains are a brass base with 24k gold/rose gold or rhodium plating. Note that the new US-manufactured silver chains are Nickel plated. The standard chains and the gold chains do not contain nickel. What are the crystals made out of? All SHD crystals are Swarovski - the most beautiful ones you can buy! Swarovski stones have extra cuts that lend to their brilliance and brightness. What are the charms made of? The charms are approximately 6-8mm and are made of base metal that do not contain lead, cadmium or nickel. How large are the lockets? Large lockets are 1.25" inches in diameter, mediums are 1" in diameter, and minis (the smallest size) are 0.75" in diameter. How many charms fit into a South ill Designs Locket? The South Hill Designs mini locket holds 3 to 4 charms, the medium locket holds4-6 charms, and the large holds 6-10 charms. How do I care for my SHD locket? You should not expose your jewelry to perfumes, litions, or aerosol sprays. Do not expose it to extreme temperatures. Remove your locket before showering, swimming, or any activity that could expose the locket to a lot of water as they are not waterproof. The glass in your locket could shatter if dropped or mishandled, so please handle with care (the glass is not covered under warranty). Use a jewelry polishing cloth to restore shine to your locket, chain & charms. If your locket does get exposed to water, open it up in a dry environment, carefully pat dry and allow to air dry the remaining moisture.
