Shackles of Freedom

This is my experience of how my life was saved by joining the Body By Vi Challenge, please share it for if it can help save at least one more life, then I feel sharing my experience was worth it! My Story is much more than a before and after picture. There's something much bigger then the photos that you see, there is a dark story behind it. When I was growing up, I was considered a "loner". I had weight issues starting around age 14. I hated how I looked, I hated myself, and I was picked on because of my weight. The only way I felt I could gain attention was to piss people off. why would anybody even like me, if i didnt even like myself? That was me and that’s how I grew up! Without knowing, depression snuck in. If I wasn't in school, I was playing video games. The only way I could change my identity was with online games. After graduating I reached my goals of living on my own until I was crushed with a job that destroyed myself esteem. Then a knee injury stole my independence forcing me to move back to the parents. At that time the only thing that brightened my day was a girl that i was speaking to online for over 3 years, however my lack of mobility from the injury rendered me unable to see her. I spiraled hopelessly into my depression. Boredom and depression led me to eat out of control and I weighed in at 300lbs. Finally I felt that i have lost control of my life. Nothing was going anywheres, and the pain over long term suffering got the best of me. I attempted to end my own life by downing a bottle of painkillers that was prescribed for my knee. 30 seconds after consuming the pills, my body rejected them and I spit them out. Either my body was too weak, or my conscience was too strong. IT WAS THAT MOMENT THAT I KNEW IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE! I moved from my home town across the country alone... Feeling naked with nothing familiar around . I was overcome again...Somedays I would consume 5000 calories. I finally got curious about my weight, and got on a scale, and it read just about 400lbs. After being in so much denial, i was floored that i have let myself go that far.. Seeing my actual weight In numbers gave me the push to make small changes. I decided to start walking short distances instead of taking a bus or cab. I got a new job that demanded me to walk 10 kms a night! A coworker introduced me to the Body By Vi challenge. Although I thought it was a bit expensive this would be the best decision I had ever made. I noticed a DRASTIC increase in energy, after using the shakes for only a week. 3 months and 80lbs down I could walk much more, but didn't notice a huge change in my body. It was others noticing and commenting that helped me slowly start to gain the confidence I needed to keep me motivated. Now 120lbs down I have a more active lifestyle, some days walking 22km. I was shocked at what I can do! The 90 Day challenge turned into an everyday challenge. This program is priceless to me. It gave me the push that changed the course of my life, a motivation I got from that push I take with me everyday. It all comes down to you drawing a line for yourself, and believe that you deserve better. Until you draw that line, nothing will motivate you to do better things for your life, whether it comes to your health, finances, or an amazing life. My health changed in huge way, I am happy with who I am and what I am doing right now in my life. This took me 8 years to finally overcome my battle within myself. I will continue to set more challenges for myself in the future, and get stronger from it. This is why ViSalus will always have my support.
