Sea to Sky Celebrations, Whistler BC, Canada

Rachael Lythe created Sea to Sky Celebrations in 2006. Originally from New Zealand, where she obtained a degree in French and Political Science from the University of Wellington, Rachael has been a resident of Whistler since 1996. She is an active participant in Whistler’s great outdoor lifestyle, and in the local community. An avid skier, mountain biker and Crossfit addict, Rachael is also mother to two great boys. Believing in the importance of giving back to the community, Rachael is a well-known volunteer in Whistler’s cultural and educational circles, using her skills as a Royal Conversatory-trained pianist for local community choirs, and serving as an elected School Board Trustee. The success of Sea to Sky Celebrations as an established event company has also allowed Rachael and her staff to donate time and expertise towards sponsoring local charity events, notably for such non-profit organizations as Zero Ceiling and the WAG Animal Shelter. For Rachael, Whistler is the ideal paradise, where she can combine her many passions; a healthy outdoors lifestyle, active community work, a love for all things creative and for music, art, fashion and design. Her diverse talents have all been realized in the perfect package that is Sea to Sky Celebrations. Kerry Thompson joined Sea to Sky Celebrations in 2012 as our US consultant and design/ décor specialist. Kerry has enjoyed a lifelong passion for design, décor and event planning. This passion inspired her through 25 years working as a production planner and manager for private label clothing with Nordstrom, a position that also brought with it opportunities for business travel in both Asia and Europe, opportunities that Kerry has described as 'absolutely invaluable'. Clients of Sea to Sky Celebrations can today draw upon Kerry's unbeatable combination of passion and experience to meet their every design and décor vision. Kerry brings to Sea to Sky Celebrations a finely developed design aesthetic, and a creative flair that is second to none. Her expertise and talents allow us to offer a complete design and décor service, including an extensive inventory of specialty items that are also available for rental. Based primarily in the Seattle area, Kerry is also the Sea To Sky Celebrations direct connection with our US clients. Kerry loves being a part-time resident of Whistler, along with husband Jim and beloved Bernese Mountain dog, Pika (our Sea to Sky Celebrations mascot). As a lifelong skier and former ski instructor, she enjoys mountain sports and outdoor activities, is also a mother of three, stepmom of four, and has 3 grandsons and one granddaughter! Kerry finds enormous satisfaction in taking every unique event from planning to execution, bringing to each her winning blend of organizational and creative skills. Linda McGaw has been a Senior Planner with Sea to Sky Celebrations since 2008. A long-term resident of Whistler for over 24 years, Linda’s in-depth local knowledge, plus her experience in hands-on management of numerous events and weddings, make her a valuable member of the Sea to Sky Celebrations team. Linda lives in Whistler with husband Ross, and they have raised two great children here. The whole family loves the Whistler lifestyle, enjoying skiing, hiking and mountain biking. Linda is also an active volunteer in many areas of the local community. During the winter months, when not assisting with our beautiful winter weddings, Linda is one of the WhistlerBlackcomb Ski School’s most in-demand private ski instructors.
