Still run with the personal touch, Herbs ‘n’ Health not only offers an extensive selection of supplements, herbs, natural health and beauty products, and fresh organic groceries, it features Saskatoon’s largest selection of homeopathic remedies. Special orders are made twice each week. Customers enjoy the relaxed shopping atmosphere at Herbs ‘n’ Health, where they can browse or seek the advice of our knowledgeable staff. Freshly made soups, gluten-free muffins, and quinoa salad — all made in-house — are available to eat in or take away. Owner Donna Hagel has been in the health business since 1978 when she convinced her parents to add on to their grocery store in Melfort, Saskatchewan, and make room for whole foods. After several years of learning the retail business from her father, she moved to Saskatoon in 1981 and took over a small store on 8th Street called Go, Grow, and Glow! With success on 8th Street encouraging her to expand her business, Donna moved her store to Saskatoon’s iconic Broadway shopping district in 1985, where it has been a fixture ever since. In 2012 Herbs ‘n’ Health expanded once more, taking over the neighboring store front and effectively doubling its retail space. What began as an unassuming shop in the early 80s grew steadily into a large, centrally located, store that is at the forefront of the health food revolution in Saskatoon. A member of the Health First network of health food stores, Saskatoon Herbs ‘n’ Health offers regular Flyer Sales as well as continual in-store promotions. Donna and her staff are enthusiastic about their work and committed to providing consumers with the information and products they need to experience health and balance.
