Raines Custom Furniture

My name is Chris Raines My woodworking career began using only traditional hand tools after studying shaker and craftsman furniture design. I have spent thousands of hours perfecting the joinery required to build this style of furniture. As I became proficient in these classic furniture styles, my clientele grew. It was not long before people started asking for custom bookcases and cabinets. This lead me to the world of CAD design and on to CNC carving and case production. Over the years I have built everything from small carved boxes to large custom kitchens. By embracing both traditional methods along with CAD and CNC routing, I am able to build anything the client wants. My shop has changed over time as equipment has become more compact, and dust extraction has improved. The fundamental principles still apply. Beautiful woods, sustainably harvested, great joinery, and water-based lacquers that eliminate off gassing, provide tough, long lasting, deep, beautiful finishes. Hand-rubbed oil finishes are still available on request. By utilizing CAD design I can bring the client's project to life and be confident that they will get exactly what they want before I touch a stick of wood.
