Portage MCC Thrift Shop Silent Auction Rules: 1. We reserve the right to set opening bids. 2. Bids are accepted at the sole discretion of the Portage MCC Thrift Shop representative. Previous high bidders who have not paid for won items or bidders who have changed or removed their bids may be barred from making future bids. 3. Bids must be in increments of whole dollars, except when placing called-for “final” bids. 4. In order to place an online or telephone bid the bidder must be known to us (i.e. has previously bid on items). 5. Online and telephone bids on ending items will be accepted until 3:45 p.m. on Fridays. All bids will cease at 4:00 p.m. on the auction end date. 6. If two or more people present are bidding on the same item at the close of bidding, each person will write their name and final bid on paper. The person who submits the highest bid wins. 7. Items subject to PST (i.e. jewellery, multimedia, cameras, tools, musical instruments, etc.) will be taxed on the final price. Also, any bid of over $100 is subject to 8% PST. 8. Successful bidders will be contacted after the auction closes (usually shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays). 9. With the exception of large items such as furniture, all items must be picked up within one week (large items must be picked up within 48 hours). If we are unable to contact you within 7 days, or if you do not claim your items within 7 days of being called, the item(s) may be re-auctioned.
