I am a Certified Holistic Nutrition and Sports and Fitness Nutrition Coach. I am a mom to an active 12 year old girl, step-mom to a music-loving 17 year old boy, partner of 10 years to my hardworking hubby and devoted human to a very spoiled 7 year old black Lab. We live in beautiful British Columbia Canada, in a suburb of Vancouver. I have always had a love for food and eating healthy. I grew up in Saskatchewan and we always had a garden, so eating fresh food was never hard. I can remember going out and pulling a crisp bright orange carrot out of the ground, cleaning it off with the garden hose and enjoying every last bite! There is NOTHING better than FRESH! Finding fresh wholesome food isn't hard, it is all around us. Everywhere we look there is fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy breads and grains, wholesome dairy and protein-rich meat and fish, BUT...there is also canned pasta, canned fruit in sugary syrup, canned vegetables, sugary snacks and frozen meals. It is so important to our health and well being to eat healthy whole foods and stay away from foods with a lot of preservatives and additives. Food is a huge factor in everything from our weight, our ability to fight disease and illness to controlling our emotions, our energy levels and building muscle. Holistic health and nutrition takes into account EVERYTHING to do with our whole being right down to a cellular level...body, mind and spirit! I strongly believe there are 4 factors that are the cornerstones for living a healthy lifestyle. BALANCE. MODERATION. CONSISTENCY. SUSTAINABILITY.
