Store it in a dry plastic bag when it is not being worn. Gold and Silver Fill is made from Solid gold/silver which is 'filled' with other alloys. The finish and surface have the same properties as sold Gold/Silver because they actually are Gold and Silver. It can be cared for just like regular gold or silver jewelry by polishing carefully by hand with a clean cloth. Plated jewelry (including Vermeil) require more delicate upkeep and maintenance. Preventative care is the best way to avoid any problems. Avoid excessive wear and handling as sweat and dirt can cause the plating to wear away. Chlorine, soaps, creams and perfumes take their toll on all jewelry so please remove your jewelry before applying any of these substances! To clean plated jewelry gently wipe with a damp cloth and dry carefully with a soft towel. Never use chemical cleaners (cloth, polish, etc) on plated jewelry! Like all plated jewelry, vermeil jewelry will eventually become lighter as the gold thins from wear and exposure. Take good care of your jewelry and it will be sparkling and gorgeous for years to come! :)
