WHAT WE DO: Events Our events bring us together as a team. They also help introduce new members to the group. NYPG hosts a series of special events each year to offer social networking opportunities in fun and relaxing settings, while providing for professional development through our mentorship events. Mentorship Program Become a Mentor A Mentor’s main role is to help a Mentee to develop and strengthen their business/career, specifically by enhancing professional objectives and goals and also provide emotional support. As a mentor you will wear many hats and assume a number of different roles during the course of a mentoring relationship (role models, cheerleaders, coaches and friends, to name a few). Become a Mentee In the early stages of pursuing a new career or a business, it is invaluable to receive guidance from someone who has already done it. You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria: - Be a NYPG Member - Have a business in the start-up phase (operating business – 3 years or less) or in the early stage of a new career (3 years or less); - Are 40 years old or under; - Be able to dedicate time to the program; - Be able to articulate specific goals for working with a mentor; - Understand roles and responsibilities (Mentee’s Manual) - Be available and prepared to actively participate in mentor orientation and all program debrief sessions For more information, please visit our website at www.newmarketchamber.ca/nypg
