It's All in the Name We know that advertising is focused on attracting people's attention and creating a desire for the product. How is that related to Church programs? The Nanaimo Salvation Army recently started a "Knitters' group". It began at a member's home with six in attendance. Good for a start. Then an innocent comment changed it all. "You realize that if we keep this up we are going to be known as the 'knit wits', don't you?" And a name was born. The interest expressed in the group doubled with the change in name and the enthusiasm of finished projects. Into the second meeting, we now meet monthly at the Church for fellowship and to share supplies. People have donated yarn, patterns, and needles as the group now looks at adding a charitable element as part of our outreach services. Like to join "Knit Wits"? Learn to knit, crochet, embroider or do tapestry. Call Ronnie at the Church office 250-753-8834 before 2PM Monday through Friday. She'll be happy to give you details.
