Music for Young Children - Aylmer

Teacher: Sarah Marshall Programs offered: Sunrise (age 2-3): Sunrise is a pre-school music program for children two and three years old. Children receive instruction in singing, rhythm, and music appreciation. As with all MYC programs, classes include age-appropriate stories, songs, and games. Sunshine I (age 3 ½ -4): The Sunshine program for three and four year old beginners introduces children to the musical alphabet, note reading, rhythm recognition, rhythm instruments and piano playing. Singing and listening exercises are also an integral part of the program. As with all MYC programs, classes include age-appropriate stories, songs, and games. Sunbeam I (age 5-6): The Sunbeam program for four and five year old beginners also introduces children to the musical alphabet, note reading, rhythm recognition, rhythm instruments, singing and piano playing. The concepts introduced in Sunbeam are slightly more complex than at the Sunshine level, as children’s fine motor, comprehension, and listening skills develop. As with all MYC programs, classes include age-appropriate stories, songs, and games.
