ENGLISH BELOW Salutations! ------- The Montreal Farmers Market - Maison des Éclusiers will be inaugurated this spring. Our location is Maison des Éclusiers, 400 rue de la Commune West in the Old Port of Montreal: historically significant, architecturally stunning and the newest attraction in the Old Port. The location is indoors and outdoors. We will be open 7 days a week from April until November. Based on market analysis the residents of the Old Port have limited grocery shopping, prefer local well sourced ingredients and love experience based shopping. Marché Atwater is 3.6KM away. There are many restaurants in the area that may also become clients. Vendors have the opportunity to reserve space for a day, a week, a weekend, a month or the entire season depending on availability. This market structure is particularly interesting because our vendors will be guaranteed clientele from day one. The restaurants and café within our location will be mandated to purchase from producers who sign up for the market. We aim to design an ecosystem within the space so that each business will sustain the other. Additionally, vendors that sign up for the entire season will have the opportunity to sell their CSA baskets to any client that walks through the door. We are looking for a good mix of artisanal vendors. We don’t necessarily want only fresh produce vendors. In our ideal situation we would have vendors selling a variety of Quebec-made products: pastas, oils, dry spices, honey, maple syrup, high quality non-local products such as: avocado, nuts, dried fruits, citrus fruit, etc. We are also looking for local soap, skin cream and beauty product vendors, dog food &/or treats, and herb/flower/plant vendors. There will only be 7 vendors at our market. We are trying to create a market where there is no direct internal competition but would allow for a complete shopping experience. We will provide advertising, access to a walk in cooler, ambiance and a welcoming space for residents foremost, local businesses and tourists. We want to charm the residents of the Old Port and create an experience based on food education, wholesome products and shopping locally. We will tailor a website and curate social media. A VLOG (online video journal) will be created to promote food consciousness, nutrition as well as highlight farmers and produce every week. There will also be guest chefs that will create pop up evenings based on the seasonal products available. Our team. Your team We are restaurateurs, chefs, carpenters, farmers, designers and artists and we are tired of the current food climate. We love food. We want change. We want to educate people. We need you! The local producer! Our goal to have affordable rent for all those sharing the space and have responsible business owners create an unparalleled shopping experience at a reasonable price for our customers. Please contact montrealfarmersmarket@hotmail.com by February 28th 2016 for availability & information Dave Kost 4388235440
