Markham Works Furniture

MISSION To furnish friends, families and clients homes, offices, businesses, cottages and chalets with quality unique furniture that will last a century! WHO WE ARE Markham Works Est 2012 in Collingwood, Ontario Canada is a boutique furniture company furnishing homes in the Georgian Bay area. All of our furniture is hand built locally with love using old school techniques. Our style is modern meets rustic and we love using reclaimed material wherever possible. If you're tired of buying disposable furniture and are ready to buy a solid piece, consider Markham Works Furniture. MARKHAM WORKS TEAM Our team of builders includes some very skilled fellas in the Georgian Bay area. MW researched around Collingwood for like minded builders with the same level of quality and passion. MW also has a couple Mennonite families from the Grey Highlands who build pieces for us. Ryan Markham is a furniture builder/carpenter currently focusing on sales, design, installing & the logistics end of the business. The business has grown and he unfortunately can't find the shop time to build your furniture anymore. He has built a team around him with the same craftsmanship and better to deliver the best quality furniture available. In addition to the current furniture lines, Ryan has sourced other local suppliers that will be shared in the new year. Ryan learned his craft over the passed 4 years building WoodShed Wonders, a boutique furniture shop west of Collingwood with Russ Ellis. They built a variety of new and reclaimed furniture for friends, family and local businesses. Ryan's winters are spent coaching freestyle skiing at Alpine Ski Club in Collingwood and skiing with his girls as well as meeting the furniture needs for your homes. His summers are spent building custom homes, rennovations and additions with other craftsman in the area. FURNITURE LINES OFFERED - A full line of Mennonite quality furniture (Dinning Room, Bedroom, Living Room, Rec Room, Bathrooms, Offices and more... - Live edge furniture - Barn board furniture - Sliding barn doors - Barn board - Rustic Home Decor - Refinishing - Custom Work DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS There are no rich craftsmen; it is a vocation not a career and most undercharge for what they do, working many additional hours without charge. Larger companies are better at understanding commercial principles but we are all craftsmen first and businessmen second, quite often choosing an interesting poorly paying job over a dull profitable one. Your project is unique to you and has no commercial value to anyone else, hence you should expect to fund at least part of the manufacture as it goes along. We ask for 50% upfront to cover materials and labour and the balance on delivery. If you have a question, would like a quote or would like to see our furniture in person please drop us a line. Thanks for taking the time to check out our work, this is a very exciting journey and we look forward to sharing as we move forward. Sanding away... The Markham Works Team
