JARET FORMAN Mortgage Broker, Life Insurance Broker, Investment Advisor Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) Jaret started in the financial industry ten years ago as a financial planner at Investors Group selling mutual funds. He quickly learned that a financial plan was not complete without an insurance review and so obtained his insurance license. Although working full-time with his clients, Jaret continued to expand his knowledge and skills. He attained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and then moved on to becoming a “Registered Representative”; which is the new term for a stock broker. Jaret next attained the “Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute” (FCSI) designation. The Canadian Securities Institute website says “The Fellow of CSI (FCSI® ) is the pinnacle financial services credential and the highest honour in Canadian financial services. It is reserved for an exclusive group of financial professionals who demonstrate unparalleled leadership, integrity, commitment and dedication to their clients and industry.” Another way of saying what the designation means is, you took a hell of a lot of courses and so here is a designation to acknowledge that. There was still something missing though. Clients would often ask if Jaret could help with lending and mortgages and he always had to refer them to a mortgage broker. Not anymore! In Late 2016, after the birth of his son Connor, Jaret signed up for the Mortgage brokers course through the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. As of May 2017, he is now a licensed Mortgage Broker through Bayfield Mortgage Professionals as well as being a junior partner at Harbourfront Wealth Management where he continues to work with his clients managing their investments and offering financial planning services.
