Greenthumb

Greenthumb is an ecological and environmental social design and consultation company; specializing in the conceptualization and implementation of conscious design science, applied to residential as well as public spaces in the fields of urban agriculture, landscaping and landscape architecture. Greenthumb sees great opportunity in assisting and transforming the suburban landscape into lush self-sustaining communities with empowered citizens resilient to peak oil scenarios and climate change. As a social enterprise Greenthumb will have the competitive advantage over the competition, since we aim to create social capital and reinvest in the communities we are working. We estimate to allocate anywhere from 2.5%-7.5% for the creation of social capital; school gardens, community gardens, fruit tree planting etc. Such pursuits will make the community quickly aware of our services and our greater vision. Greenthumb has found a substantial untapped emerging niche market. Affordable, fresh, local, direct sale homegrown vegetables and fruits. There are three key predicted future trends which Greenthumb believes will allow for an attractive niche market. Greenthumb is located in Baie D'urfe, Quebec and ultimately aims to serve a vast majority of suburban properties and households of the greater Montreal Census Metropolitan Area. As a social enterprise Greenthumb aims to convert as many unproductive lawns into high yielding edible landscapes and thus reconnect the community to local organic food and well-being.
