Grandma's Den

History The Grandma's Den Thrift Shop was first opened around 1980 and was operated by a group of senior ladies from the community. The ladies collected and resold donated items. Since 1993, Grandma's Den has been overseen by a Board of Directors. The store provides community access to individuals with developmental disabilities giving them the experience of operating a store. In 1996, Grandma's Den purchased three shop bays. The building was then renovated to accommodate Grandma's Den Thrift Shop and to be utilized as a vocational training centre. In 1997, a wood working shop was established within Grandma's Den, providing a different avenue for the special needs community. In 2007, Grandma's Den purchased Chalifoux Motors Building on Main Street. Today, Grandma's Den receives donations such as used clothing and personal items, used furniture, television sets, personal electronics, and household items. Items are refurbished whenever possible to create an acceptable item for resale to the public. All items are sold as is. In the process, we provide work experience and training opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities that are within the Falher Friendship Corner Association. The Wood Shop continues to provide various items for sale.
