Golden Apple Farm

At Golden Apple Farm, we believe in knowing where your food comes from! We want the animals that provide our meat and eggs to have as natural a life as possible. We want to keep them free from any artificial hormones, antibiotics, and other medications, so that those things are not passing through in to our food. Our chickens free range our yardsite during spring, summer and fall - plus as much of the winter as they want to (which isn't much!). We sell eggs to most local communities and deliver to Saskatoon twice per week. Eggs are $5/dozen and include some white and some brown eggs, with sizes varying from medium to extra large double yolkers. Eggs are stored at room temperature and are wiped down to remove any debris, but are not scrubbed or bleached so they maintain their natural protective coating. We also raise rabbits for pets and meat. Weather permitting, our rabbits live in cages or runs outside on the grass so they can forage for their greens. They are supplied with fresh cut grass throughout the temperate months, as well as vegetable scraps from the kitchen and garden. Their winter diet consists mainly of grass and alfalfa hay and is supplemented by an 18% protein non-medicated pellet. We are in the process of implementing a fodder system so that the rabbits and chickens can have fresh greens year round. Eventually, this will replace the pellets in their diet entirely. All rabbits are available for sale for $30. Pet rabbits are available after they are 8 weeks of age. Meat rabbits are sold live between 10-12 weeks of age, and processing is provided as a free service to those who wish it.
