Our History General Appliances was founded in 1972 as General Repairs and Sales. Owner Simon Leenstra operated the business in various locations in Lacombe up until 1993, when Peter and Trudy Kuipers purchased the operation at its main street location. In 1999, the owners decided to expand, selling the downtown store and building a much larger showroom at the current site. Recently, Peter and Trudy handed the reigns over to their son Gary Kuipers, son-in-law Kurtis Dykstra, younger brother Mark Kuipers, and employee Jason Siebenga. In 2008, General Appliances expanded again - this time to accommodate a wider selection of luxury appliances. The new generation looks forward to serving the community with the same professionalism and dedication to service customers have come to expect.
