Game Ready is defined by its youth athletic development program, as well as its extensive After School Program which is offered Monday-Friday. GAME READY FITNESS: Our fitness programs are focussed on improving the physical literacy, fundamental movements and overall fitness of children and youth. Regardless of socio-economic barriers, all youth and athletic backgrounds are welcome to participate in this developmental program, mentored by Professional Athletes, Olympic Athletes and Community Leaders. Programs: Game Ready Play (Ages 6-9): 5:00-6:00pm - Basic movements, balance and coordination are developed as coaches use games, relays and drills with a focus on high energy and fun. Game Ready Fit (Ages 10-13): 6:00-7:00pm - Intermediate level strength and conditioning is the emphasis. Proper running mechanics and body weight exercises are of focus. Game Ready Speed + Strength* (Ages 14-16): 7:00-8:00pm - An introduction to weight training. Proper progression through a workout is emphasized to maximize strength development, flexibility and range of motion. Athletes develop more power and explosiveness for sport specific movements. Game Ready Speed + Power* (Ages 17-19): 8:00-9:00pm - This is an elite weight training program, designed for athletes with an understanding of weight training fundamentals. *All youth registered in these programs have FREE access to the Plyometrics program. (Thursdays 8:00-9:00pm) AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: Our After School Program provides a structured and fun atmosphere for children to attend once school is out. This program is also offered throughout Winter, Spring and Summer Break, as well as during professional days. We’ll be offering some great activities and out trips each season! Our brand new 5000 square foot facility is equipped with a homework room, eight computers with internet access, indoor field turf for sports and physical activities, basketball hoops, as well as a lounge area with air hockey, foosball, pool table, ping pong, board games and video game consoles. Hours, Early Dismissal and Pick-up: Program hours are from 3:00-6:00PM, Monday-Friday, and will be open during early dismissal days. Optional pick-up is available from Carisbrooke and Capilano Elementary Schools, with more schools being added soon. Transportation will be by Game Ready bus and is included in within the monthly fee.
