Evergreen Academy is a private elementary school serving the southern Niagara Area. We provide an alternative to learning where success is achieved through an inspiring and supportive environment. Evergreen teaches expectations from the Ontario Curriculum with an additional focus on Science and Nature. Evergreen Academy is a safe, comfortable and inclusive school community that provides students with small class sizes, individualized attention and programming that is tailored for their individual strengths and needs. The first year at Evergreen will receive students in Grades 1 to 6 and for the following years, Evergreen will expand to accommodate advancing students up to Grade 8. Evergreen also offers extended learning programs before and after school, as well as during the summer months. With a slightly extended school day, there will be time set aside for each student to follow personalized courses of study in areas of interest and need. In addition to programming for learning in all curriculum content areas, Evergreen embraces the development of personal character and learning skills to help prepare the students for success in a changing world. Furthermore, Evergreen strives to promote positive student behavior and to set high standards for student conduct with no tolerance for bullying. The Evergreen philosophies centre on active, hands-on learning where students spend less time at desks doing paper and pencil work, and more time actively engaged in their learning. The teaching will be student-driven and involvement of both parents and students in the learning will ensure that they are receiving the support and education that they require. Evergreen will provide frequent feedback to parents and students to monitor student success. The ultimate goal of Evergreen Academy is to see every student succeed and thrive in an environment that is supportive of their individual needs and learning styles.
