Bright Minds Home Daycare

Traditional and Montessori-Inspired Program I have integrated a traditional style daycare program with Montessori methods and materials that helps the children to learn their letters, phonetic sounds and numbers. Exposure to the different elements of language such as oral communication, writing, reading, and comprehension is critical for the toddler and preschool age groups. Phonetics is introduced to provide a base for children when they are ready to begin reading. Activities are designed to encourage expression, strengthen and build vocabulary. Regular conversation throughout the day is encouraged in addition to reading, singing and rhyming. Math is such a large part of our daily lives. Children learn numbers by basic counting, number recognition, and patterns. The children are introduced to celebrations and traditions. As children begin to understand the world outside of themselves, basic introduction to world geography, space, weather ect are part of the program. Additionally, art and music are components of the toddler and preschool day with creative expression and projects. The children are encouraged to move while learning control of the body and developing spatial awareness. Activities include exercise, dance and both indoor and outdoor play. There is great focus on the toddler and preschooler's ability to care for himself as well to help him or her become aware of and begin to care for the environment around him. Through repetitive exercises the toddler and preschooler will learn concentration and order to gain independence. Feeding oneself, participating in dressing and undressing for outdoors, toilet learning, hand washing, drinking from a cup, scooping, pouring, manners and courtesy. Children learn to take care of themselves and their environment while their self-esteem and independence grow.
