Bike to Work Week Powell River

This year BTWW will be held in Powell River from May 25 - 31. Time to dust off your bike! If you start riding now, you can "condition" all needed body parts and will be able to avoid SBS (Sore Bum Syndrome)! To participate, please start rounding up as many co-workers as possible. Also, we invite all schools and teachers to participate as well. We'd like to challenge local businesses and organizations to record their KMs and let's see who can bike the most during BTWW! In its inaugural BTWW in 2014, Powell River had 149 Total Riders 15 Total Teams 56 New Riders 38/62 % Female/Male 4,376 Total Kms Cycled 131,294 Calories Burned 949 Kg GHGs Saved Let's see if we can start a "chain reaction" and beat last year's record! This year, we will have several “Celebration Stations” to help everyone celebrate the multitude of personal benefits that go along with regular cycling: health, wellness and fun. Be on the look out for these stations throughout the week where you can stop in for a snack and coffee, maybe win a prize or possibly get your bike checked! Municipal plans are underway to increase the number and quality of bike lanes on Powell River roadways. Participating in BTWW will help show your support for this much needed improvement.
