Located in Vancouver Island’s Wset Shore community, Ballet and Movement Arts inspires lasting appreciation for dance through elite dance instruction, artistic excellence, and innovative choreography. We believe that dance is both a discipline and art and fosters improved self- discipline, self-esteem, self- confidence, and self-expression. We provide a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive and attain personal best both physically and artistically. The focus of Ballet and Movement Arts is to provide high quality ballet training to both children and adults in the renowned Russian Vaganova Technique and to expose students to many other dance forms such as Character Dance, Contemporary, Jazz, and Flamenco. It is with a solid fundamental understanding of classical ballet that our students can seamlessly transition into these other dance forms with grace and appreciation. Exploring “Movement Arts” diversifies movement quality and musicality which will enable our dancers to be well rounded performers. Ballet and Movement Arts strives to promote individual merit, respect for art and body, and sense of community. Just as dance has invaluably positively influenced our instructors lives we aim to also enrich the lives of our students, their families and friends, and the community.
