R.B. (Dick) Askew had a vision, a drive and a sense of community unparalleled in the Shuswap. He wanted to provide the very best in food service. In 1929 he purchased the Salmon Arm branch of the AE Palmer and Company and started what is now Askew’s Foods. Family members and excellent staff helped the business evolve and expand to serve the changing needs of customers in the area. Over eighty years later there are now four Askew’s stores in the Shuswap Okanagan region.
