Le projet C'MAMAN (Communautairement et de Mère à Mère pour l'Allaitement du Nourrisson) est né du besoin qu'ont les femmes allaitantes de recevoir le soutien de leur communauté ainsi que du désir qu'ont plusieurs mères d'aider d'autres mères à vivre une expérience d'allaitement positive. Un soutien entre femmes est donc offert gracieusement par les mères bénévoles en allaitement (mba) de ce projet. Les mères bénévoles en allaitement sont d'abord et avant tout des mères qui ont allaité ou qui allaitent pendant un minimum de six mois. Elles sont membres en règle de la LLL et ont reçu une formation minimale de 12 heures. Le programme visent à fournir du soutien et de l'enseignement aux mères qui le désirent via un jumelage avec une mba. Le jumelage peut débuter dès la grossesse et peut se poursuivre jusqu'au sevrage.
